Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update: Shattered Dreams

It was a valiant effort on my part. I fought bravely against seemingly insurmountable odds. I had amassed 139 points and on Any Given Sunday I would have been victorious. My opponent was mightier still and defeated me with 151 points. All I fucking needed was 25 more yards or a touchdown from Percy Harvin or just another touchdown by the Vikings in general and I could have won the damn game.But no, the Vikings turn the ball over deep in Chicago's territory effectively ending the game.

And so the playoffs end for That Devil Music in it's quest for blog dominance in an arena of hack writers and cynical metalheads playing a game where we have no impact on the real games what so ever.Congratulations to Deseee of TNOTB as he advances to the finals against Angela Gosskowski of Reign in Blonde to determine the champion of the 1st annual(?)fantasy football league.I'm proud of how far I got considering the parade of injuries my players sufferred and I couldn't replace with anybody worth a shit. Thanks to the TNOTB for inviting me aboard. I will continue to compete because I do want to get the bronze medal but this will be the last post on this for now.

Here's to Des getting beat by a girl in the finals.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update: Playoffs Baby!

Fantasy Football can be crazy. Just two weeks ago after my second loss in a row I thought I was out of this thing. Then an ideal matchup against the worst team in the league allowed me to stay in. Well this week was the first week of the playoffs against Grover of TNOTB and you wanna guess the outcome? 142-70 pwnage from......That Devil Music. That's right I'm moving on to the semi finals against Desee, also of TNOTB,for the right to get into the finals.

So the Final Four is as follows:
Clowns with Downs(Me) vs. Drunk on Sunday (TNOTB)
In Flamers(Reign in Blonde) vs. #Sports(also RIB)

MVP:Deion Branch followed closely by Matt Schaub

So regardless of what happens I'm pretty happy with how the season turns out and I think That Devil Music represented itself well in this battle of metal bloggers. Stay tuned to see how potential battle of the sexes turns out.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Week Who Cares? Update

I haven't really updated this much because I didn't want to be that guy that talks about fantasy football all the time when no else gives a shit. But the regular season ends next week which means that if I have any hope of defeating the other blogsites and reign supreme I must win next week.

It's going to be tough going because my team has been decimated over the past few weeks with injuries. In fact last week I had the lowest point total I've had all year long with 78 points. But I snapped a two game losing streak due to my opponent having given up weeks ago and only scoring 58.

So as it stands That Devil Music's record is 6-5 and with 6 spots for playoffs I'm ranked 5th.My opponent next week has a strong team so I just have to hope that at least this next week will get me back to form to advance. Wish me luck!

Pigskin Destroyer Update: Week 7

We're now getting in the time of the year where half the league decides to not bother anymore. People don't bother with bye weeks or to discard injured players. On one hand it's easy wins but at the same time it's cheap wins too.Well last week my opponent, Ineverwrestledabear, did actually try but thanks to my savvy pickup of LaGarrette Blount from Tampa Bay and dropping Cadillac Williams I actually won pretty handily 127-79. The standings did not change much as Angela's In flamers managed to squeek out a win to stay number one in the seeding and I remain number 2.

Unless Metal On-sider fixes his 3 bye week slots it might be another win next week and if thats the case I'll forgo with an update and you can just assume That Devil Music is now 6-3 in this league.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update:Week 5 and 6

I am slipping. I forgot to do this last week and almost forgot to do it for this week. Well in Week 5 I put some decent numbers over 100 but some key bench mistakes ultimately cost me the game as I lost by around 8 points. In Week 6 I destroyed my opponent, the lovely and apathetic Erin from 74000 Riffs, 130-60.This is the time of the season where you get to see who's quit playing, and who never pays attention due to bye weeks.
This week is a big matchup as I'm up against Drunk on Sunday run by Deesee of TNOTB. The Drunks are first in the division by one game over me but I have some key players on bye this week so lets see if the bench can put up some points.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update: Week 4

A bit late on this, it's been crazy of late. This week had me up against TNOTB's Snagon and while the projected points had us pretty close, it really wasn't. That Devil Music was victorious 125-80. I pretty much kept the same lineup as last week and it served me well if not as good.

This week I'm matched against Reign in Blonde's Angela who had a monster week with 180 points. This will also be interesting due to the fact of our trade a couple of weeks agao that netted me Austin Collie and Ahmad Bradshaw. So who is going to get bit in the ass this week as a result of that transaction? Stay Tuned.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update: Week 3

Whooo! Angela Gossowski from Reign in Blonde must be gnashing her teeth and getting a makeover this week. Why? Because thanks to her offering me a trade of Austin Collie and Ahmad Bradshaw for Reggie Wayne I not only won my match up against Voodoo Shitshower but Austin Collie racked up 45 points while Reggie Wayne just got garbage yardage. Oh yeah I scored a league high 163 points. Thanks Angela(kisses).You can also put your website back up.

So next weeks matchup is against Chaos TD run by Snagon from TNOTB. I really want to smoke him because he's a dirty Giants fan. It might be tough going considering out projected scores are almost equal. Until next week.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update: Week Two

A bit late on this, sorry about that. Well we had a much better week this time then the first. We actually scored 134 points this time. The bad news, we still lost.Having to rely on the Saints not letting the Niners score and hoping that Pierre Thomas did not get the ball for the Saints proved to be futile as our opponent still racked up 142 points. Not bad though considering at one point we were down 101-19.But I've made some moves that will hopefully improve the running game and maintain a good receiving corp.

It appears we're up against yet another member of Thrash Hits U.K with a very intimidating name of....(snicker) Voodoo Shitshower.Wish us luck.

Pigskin Destroyer 666 Update: Week One

As some of you may recall I posted that That Devil Music is representing in an all metal bloggers fantasy football league. If not here is the post. So this was my first ever live draft and my feelings on my team were meh. It's one thing to just autopick and get up the next day to see who you got and a completely different thing to have to sit there and take into account what slots your filling and what bye weeks they're on.

Well week one is in the books and my team, Clowns with Downs, was matched against Ineverwrestledabear which I believe is Doug from Heavy Metal Comedy. What could have been a landslide victory...................for them turned out to be not too bad as we lost 112-80. I would like to think this was just week one jitters and we will go out there and own face next week. Especially when we're up against limey Brits who can't even fit their whole name into the allotted space. Yeah I'm talking to you Thrash Hits U.K. All*s with your cutesy way of saying stars.

Yes that's right, That Devil Music will be representing in the all metal bloggers league Pigskin Destroyers 666 hosted by The Number of the Blog.

We will be matched up not only against members of TNOTB but also Reign in Blonde ,74000 Riffs, Thrash Hits , and Metal Insider among others. I'll keep you posted on how we do as the season progresses.
